Soy Silk

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI was gifted a bag of smooth and soft soysilk a while ago, and also a couple of ‘scrappy bats’ from Felt Fine. The scrappy bats are made from multi coloured wool taken from the drum carders.  They mix it with at least four other fibres such as angelina fibres (a new synthetic fibre which adds sparkle), banana, bamboo, mohair, alpaca, silk, sari silk yarn and  silk throwsters.  I spun a single from the scrappy bat, and one from the soysilk, and plied them together.  The result was this beautiful, soft skein.
