Lee has created a mat by weaving together her hand-spun and dyed wool. The mat was woven on a stick weaving loom and then stitched together. The hand woven wool was dyed various colours using black beans, onion peels, turmeric, avocados and flowers. The result is a very thick, unique and rustic mat.

Faye has dyed this merino wool to spin. She took out the paler wool and added more dye to the pot for the darker colour.

This skein of wool was hand dyed by Sukrita. The blue is so vibrant.
This is a stunning piece of dyeing by Sukrita. She took a sock blank, which is superwash so no felting in the washing machine. She soaked it in an alum bath for the mordant, then laid it out and placed gum leaves, carrot slices and hibiscus flowers along the fabric. She then rolled up the fabric and boiled it. It looks absolutely amazing.
Sukrita has been doing quite a bit of dyeing lately and experimenting with different techniques. The above tops were dyed using two different types of eucalyptus bark with an alum mordant.
