Quilt Handover

Once a month some of the ladies in our Guild meet to make quilts and items for our community.  We recently donated 20 quilts and 24 pillow cases to the Child Protection Counselling Service of the Local Central Coast Health District.  These beautiful quilts will be given to parents, grandparents, children and carers who have experienced trauma or violence.  We hope they will make someones day a little brighter.

Noelene’s Quilt

Here is the latest quilt from Noelene. She called it Welcome to our Jungle. She made it for her new grand niece. She used a charming cot panel & finished it with a combination of machine & hand quilting.

Sue’s Quilt

I made this quilt for my mother in memory of our Central Australia trip. The patterns for the animals and some of the fabric were purchased in Alice Springs. Techniques include appliqué with machined blanket stitch and hand painting. I free motion quilted gum leaves on the plain blocks.  By Sue N.

Our Five Seconds of Fame

Several years ago Eileen, our then president, was interviewed for the ‘Embroidery and Cross Stitch’ magazine.  A three page article was printed all about our guild and there were photos of our lovely ladies that quilt on a Wednesday.  I recognize pretty much everyone there so nearly everyone is still a current member.  Eileen found the article recently when she was browsing through some of her magazine collection.
