Gay and Lyn attended the NSW Guild 70th Anniversary weekend in June 2017. We visited the Exhibition and saw our Guild entry of The Forest Floor Rug. (As these were big items, they were not able to be displayed as we would have liked, due to the room. ) After admiring the work of Members, we put in our People’s Choice vote and headed back to the venue at the RSL. This was all set up with the Traders and the Members stand. After spending our money with the Traders, we headed to our post of the Members stand to spend the afternoon on sales. We did both sell something of ours and closed up at 4pm. Off to the Guild rooms to get changed and head out to the Anniversary and Awards night. This was a lovely night and the food was very nice. We were able to chat and catch up with others from all over. Awards were given out for different categories and some very talented members won prizes. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful night. Laughs and fun all round. It was a pleasure for Gay and Lyn to represent our Guild. (This we thought, to be important for our Guild to be represented). Gay B and Lyn A.

Who’s going to the Morpeth Tea Cosy Festival this year, ladies? It’s running from the 17th through to the 27th August at the Campbell’s Store Complex, 175 Swan Street, Morpeth and opens at 10am each day and closes at 5pm. There’s plenty to see and do in Morpeth so why not make a day of it, or perhaps a weekend.
An open day is being held by all groups in our community precinct, on August 19th from 9am until 3pm. We will be there with the Central Coast Potter’s Society, the Central Coast Family History Society, the Maker’s Studio and the Lion’s Club. It should be a great day so tell all of your friends and family and let’s make our open day really successful.
Our member Trudie is having an exhibition, so don’t forget to check it out everyone!

What a fabulous day we all had for the Biggest Morning tea. Around 20 of us enjoyed ourselves with plenty of food and prizes. Thanks for all the organisation and helpers. By Lyn A.
The Harvest Festival was on last weekend and there were lots of visitors to the mountain districts. This is Lyn with her woven saori wrap at the Wollombi markets on Monday of the long weekend. Lyn was there with the Morriset Spinners and Weavers who had their Interweave exhibition at Wollombi over the weekend. They had a very successful exhibition so they were very happy with the weekend. Naomi and Bev were at Kulnura on Sunday with the Art and Craft Exhibition in the hall. They spent the day spinning and chatting to all the visitors about all things fibre and spinning. Kulnura Hall was a little quiet on Sunday due to the constant thick fog, but many people braved the weather and the Harvest Festival turned out to be very successful.
Don’t forget the Central Coast Harvest Festival this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Naomi will be at the art and craft exhibition at Mangrove Mountain on Sunday, and Lyn A will be at Intertwined at Wollombi with the Morriset Spinners and Weavers. Check it out!
The Harvest Festival Central Coast is on this long weekend. As a part of the festival, Morriset Spinners and Weavers are having an exhibition and sale at the Old Fireshed Gallery at Wollombi. Our very own Lyn A is a member there too, so pop in to see her and the other members. Why not make a day or a weekend of it and check out the other fun events being held as part of the festival. There’s plenty going on over the weekend.
Don’t forget the Biggest Morning Tea at the Cottage tomorrow.
