Workshops

As the new Workshop conveners, we would like to introduce ourselves to everyone.  Especially the ones who do not know us.
Linda and Lyn would like your feedback on any workshops you may be interested in.  We really like the one to one methods of learning new skills and will endeavor to find the right person to help you with your query.
Anything at all, Sewing, Spinning, Weaving, Felting, Knitting, Crochet, or anything else you can think of, please feel free to put your name on the form on the whiteboard and we will get back to you.
This way we feel that the workshop situation will benefit all involved as we have so much talent within The Cottage, we can all share our knowledge.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanking you,
Linda Bagnat and Lyn Abbott 43256445 or 0419 408140

Brooches for The Gathering

Anne Needle Felting
Anne is a great member of our various groups. She knows so much about fabrics, sewing, knitting, crochet and now she has begun needle felting. Anne was showing Linda in a one to one workshop how to needle felt leaves and gum nuts to make brooches. See the stash she has already made. Anne just loves doing this type of felting and loves even more showing others how to do it. She is steaming along with creating attendee gifts for The Gathering in 2016. Anne has only just learnt needle felting, and she is loving it. You can see by the look on her face. By Lyn.

September 2014 – Rudolf Steiner Spring Fair

The Guild will again return in September this year to the Rudolf Steiner Spring Fair. Over the last few years the members of the Central Coast Handweavers, Spinners and Textile Arts Guild have displayed their crafts, entertained and educated visitors to the fete with their creations, skills and knowledge. Look out here for further details regarding the venue, the date in September and Guild plans.

Mangrove Mountain Country Fair

The Central Coast Handweavers, Spinners and Textile Arts Guild were proud to demonstrate their skills at the 50th Mangrove Mountain Country Fair (19th of October 2013). “The Fair” as its known to locals is one of the longest continually running events in NSW operated by a rural community, for the benefit of the local community in.

Guild members Bev Smith, her daughter Naomi and Naomi’s family kept their wheels and carders at full pace all day as visitors stopped by to learn about the Guild’s crafts and watch wool and alpaca fleece be turned into beautiful yarn.

The younger visitors to the fair were particularly interested – perhaps some of them think yarns are something Grandpa tells and clothes come just from the shops. Guild members have again been asked to set up and weave their magic at the 2014 Country Fair, and we hope to see you there!
