Open Day & Sales at The Cottage 12/11/16.

We had an open day at the Cottage and only 1 weeks notice was given. Still we pulled together and with all the little helpers, we had a lovely day. Signs were put out around the streets and the rain poured down and only a few popped in. By lunch time it had fined up. The helpers all turned up and set up with their work. The Cottage was abuzz with us all.  As for the Guests, there were not many.  A few sales were made between Members and the setup looked nice. We had two potential Members and this was what it was all about. With notice next time we should do a lot better. Thank you all who came along for your help and Friendship. We all had a great social time.  By Lyn A.

Finishing Weaving

Sampleit MMCF

Above Lyn is showing us that don’t know how, the finishing technique she uses for the new sampleit looms.  This piece was done at the Mangrove Mountain Country Fair using yarn that was carded and spun at the fair on the day.  Below is the finished piece.  We were pretty impressed.

Cushion Creations

Cushions

These two beautiful cushions were made today by Isobel and Claire, textile students from Green Pt. Baptist School. They were delighted with their efforts and really appreciated the guidance given by Beth and Kay.

Julie’s Pompom Critters

Little pompoms
Everyone will remember Julie sitting on  Tuesdays and Wednesday nights, making her pom poms. Here we see the finished product and they look fantastic. Each one has its own personality.  Julie has amazed us all with the finished Little Critters.  Love your work Julie.  By Lyn A.

Open Day Tomorrow

The Cottage

The Cottage

At the general meeting on Saturday it was decided to run an Open Day at the cottage this coming Saturday, 12th November. If any of our members would like to sell any items or show case your talents with demonstrations you are most welcome. Please come Friday afternoon to set up or early Saturday morning. We feel this is a great opportunity to encourage new membership and to show off what the guild has to offer. Please remember that 10% of any money made by members will go to the guild. Lyn has organized for an EFTPOS machine to be available for prospective customers. For any enquiries, please contact Lyn Abbott on 0419408140.  By Margaret C.
